Before you order
The most common mistake in buying art is going too small. Use this guide to measure your wall, match a room type and order with confidence.
The golden rule
A single piece should fill roughly two-thirds of the wall space behind a sofa, bed or dining table. Anything narrower will look timid; the right size gives the room an anchor.
For gallery walls, treat the total arrangement width as the print width — the grouping should still observe the two-thirds rule.

By room type
Living room
Measure the sofa width. The art (or arrangement) should span at least two-thirds of that measurement. Hang at seated eye level — roughly 130 cm to the centre.
Bedroom
A single piece above the headboard should be 50 – 60 cm below the ceiling. Keep 25 – 35 cm between the top of the headboard and the bottom of the frame.
Hallway
A narrow hallway suits tall portrait prints or a column of two stacked pieces. Hang so the visual centre sits at 145 cm — standard standing eye level.
Home office
Positioned behind your monitor at a height that reads well on video calls. A square or landscape piece in the 40 – 60 cm range is ideal for most desks.
Dining room
Dining walls often accommodate a single large piece or a pair. Consider landscape orientation to mirror the horizontal feel of a dining table.
Bathroom
A well-placed small print above a towel rail or beside the mirror elevates a bathroom from functional to considered. Canvas is the safest substrate for damp environments.
